What Are 242 Groups?

242 Groups are made up of 3-4 Couples or 6-8 individuals. They devote themselves together for 12-24 months of teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread and prayer.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:42

How Are Groups Lead?

242 groups are led by individuals or couples who are members of Valley Church. They commit to leading a group for 1-3 years for the purpose of disciple making and multiplication. The disciple-making leader leads the overall group in regards to direction, facilitation and be responsible to hold other members of the group accountable to commitments of obedience that are made.

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2

WHEN & WHERE DO GROUPS MEET?

242 groups gather throughout the week at times and locations agreed upon by the whole group. We recommend that a group meet weekly in one another's homes but each group can decide on their own schedule and location.

With one accord they continued to meet daily in the temple courts and to break bread from house to house, sharing their meals with gladness and sincerity of heart, Acts 2:46

WHAT HAPPENS AT A TYPICAL GATHERING?

A typical gathering begins with enjoying fellowship, sand sharing a meal with one another. The group will then gather together to study the Bible and pray together. We recommend that each group begin using the 242 Bible Study Method or the 242 Divine Listening Guide.
