Simply put, we need to make room.

As attendance has grown, our worship space, parking, Valley Kids areas, and other parts of our facility have become increasingly full. Two services would immediately create additional capacity and give us room to continue welcoming people.

We don't want a lack of space to become a barrier for someone who wants to be part of Valley Church.

9AM & 11AM

We’ve spent considerable time researching schedules used by other growing churches and considering what would work best for Valley Church.

Our goal is to choose times that are easy to remember, work well for families, and provide enough time between services for fellowship, parking turnover, and our ministry teams to prepare for the next service.

We are planning to launch two services on September 13.

Yes. Both services would feature the same worship, message, and children's ministry. 

Yes. We want families to have the same opportunity to participate regardless of which service they attend. And, the plan is to have enough space so kids can worship with their family at the beginning of the service until they are dismissed to their classes before the message.

Providing Valley Kids during both services will require additional volunteers, which makes this an exciting opportunity for more people to get involved and serve.

Initially some teams may have to serve for both services, but moving to two services shouldn't mean simply doubling the workload of the people who already serve.

Instead, we'll be working to grow our ministry teams so serving remains healthy and sustainable.

For some people, two services may even provide a new opportunity to serve one and attend one.

This is one of the things we care about most.

We don't want two services to create two churches. That's one reason why we intentionally left one hour between services so people aren't immediately rushed out as another group arrives.

Sunday worship is also only one part of life together at Valley Church. Our 242 Groups, ministry teams, events, and relationships throughout the week will continue to help us grow as one church family.

A larger facility may be part of Valley Church's future, but that would be a significant financial and logistical undertaking.

Two services allow us to steward our current facility well, immediately create additional capacity, and continue growing while prayerfully considering what God may have for us in the future.

That's okay. This is a significant transition, especially when we've been accustomed to worshiping together at one time.

We're committed to communicating openly throughout the process, listening to questions and concerns, and making adjustments as we learn.

Above all, we're asking our church family to pray with us and keep the reason for this change in front of us:

Absolutely not! Have plans early Sunday afternoon? Attend the 9am. Stay up too late on Saturday night? Sleep in and come to the 11am.

We are planning to only livestream the 9AM service.

Pray. Participate. Serve.

Pray for wisdom, unity, and God's direction as we enter this next season.

Participate by embracing the transition and helping make whichever service you attend a welcoming place for others.

And consider serving. Two services will create new opportunities across Valley Kids, guest services, worship, media and tech, and other ministry areas.

Together, we can make room for more people to experience the hope of Jesus.
