Mark 2 opens with a crowded house and four friends who refuse to give up. When they can’t reach Jesus, they tear open the roof and lower their friend down. Jesus doesn’t just see the paralyzed man—He sees their faith. Before healing the body, Jesus heals what matters most: the heart. “Your sins are forgiven.” This moment offends the religious leaders. Only God can forgive sins—and that’s the point. Jesus is revealing who He truly is. He doesn’t come just to fix outward problems, but to restore us completely.
