Identified With sinners

ABOUT THIS MESSAGe

From the very first chapter of Mark’s Gospel, we see a powerful truth emerge: Jesus did not come to keep His distance from sinners—He came to identify with them. Mark opens with a bold declaration: this is the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. And almost immediately, we see what that good news looks like in action. Jesus steps into the Jordan River to be baptized—not because He needed repentance, but because we do. In that moment, the sinless Son of God willingly stood among sinners, showing us that He came to represent us, not avoid us.
